Does anybody see a pattern here?

Does anybody see a pattern here?

In 2006 Moen was voted out as sheriff and Gaikowski elected. Gaikowski was to have begun in January 2007, but the CC decided to create a "new" position suddenly. This "new position" entailed them appointing McClelland
and giving him complete authority over Gaikowski, leaving nothing for the duly elected sheriff to do. Of course Gaikowski resigned (something the CCs were hoping would happen all along). Due to the many complaints from voters over this the CC appointed another Native American, Owen, who was reelected by the voters. Owen endured many months of harassment by the CCs with their vendetta against anyone with any ties to the Oyate.
Now Owen has resigned, leaving the county vulnerable again to the idiotic whims of a few who imagine themselves invincible and all powerful.

This pretty much boils down to white supremacy and a total discriminatory attitude by some of the ccs. They don't want a Native in a position of any sort of power, plain and simple....even if that person was duly elected by the people.

Have we had enough yet? Are we going to allow even more damage done to our county by those who took an oath to work for us rather than against us? The damage done by our present commissioners will live long after we get rid of them so the sooner we get them OUT the sooner we can begin the healing process. Roger and Tim are okay, but the others are not.

How much more of this behavior will it take for the PEOPLE to take back our county??? We need to stand up and be counted and we need to do it NOW!!

Reading
the blog line I can only agree on most of the statements you have made.
(1`) when have the CC's ever been honest with us (2) CC control of
EVERYTHING that happens in the county is obvious (3) Racisim is an ugly
thing, common and accepted in Roberts Co.(4) We, the voters have LET IT
HAPPEN. We DID NOT support Gary or Vince. we did not attend meetings,
confront, face to face, the CC"s. NO, we only talked to each other and
in most cases not even our neighbors.(5) I have come to believe I am
only one of a very small group of Roberts Co. Voters who is not afraid
to voice my opinions, sign any and all my letters, blog comments,
etc.and express my opinions publicly. Our pattern of multiple sheriffs
is so very rare there is nothing to compare to. Any and all comments
are welcome.

I agree with you Bob. I've followed the saga in Roberts Co for 4 yrs now and I just cant beleive the voters dont flood the commissioner meetings with their distain for what 3 of them continue to do. I'm not from your county but my county voters would not let us get away with that stuff for a minute. If we treated our sheriff so badly we'd never hear the end of it.I suggest you Claudia and who ever else willing to stand firm for your county and whats right keep it up. Pierre is watching!!!!! Jim

Thanks for the comment Jim. I Really wish I had just some of the answers to our problems. Do sincerely believe most of it is racism, voters secretly happy that Gary and Vince were elected but not about to let anyone know they voted for a Native-American. And Pierre? State hasn't done anything constructive in the couty in years. They paid no attention to Larry Long when he made a special trip to Roberts Co. A known fact that the select few control RC and are not about to give up without a fight. Voters from the Peever area tell me they will get rid of Horton. Only time will tell.

Peever will get Horton out. We up in north county will sure get Roger Narvati out, we've been having meetings for awhile and have chosen a couple of names to run. We don't care how many drinks he buys he didnt support Sheriff Owen and thats enough for us to want him gone!!!! Hull will be ran out of the county if he runs again. Hes a joke, not even calling a roll call vote!!! Stupid way to chair a important meeting like that. Someone told me Horton did'nt vote so that would make it 1to 1. Something funny in Denmark!!!! Porky

Since no one has said much on this blog since Vince resigned I am thinking we are all still in a shock or have just given up in trying to get back just a little bit of control of RC. Still think racism is our major problem here and have no idea how to over come that problem. Also know part of it is jelously, N Americans had nothing until casinos and now some people just can't stand things are being done with funds generated by them despite the fact that the state has put limits on them but not on Deadwood. Unfair? Again? LOL LOL My thanks to Porky for keeping up the fight and can only hope and pray that others will join in this struggle.
