We hear from a good source that yesterday the CC held a special meeting during which they gave Vince $20,000 and got him to resign.
The Buzz is that the only application comes from Deputy Travis Grajczyk at this time.
We also hear that Chad Ward tried to resign as well, but the CC tabled his request.
The lack of support from the CC, running a large county department without sufficient manpower and the general harassment from those "Good Ole Boys" were the main reasons it was said.
All we can say at this time is "What were they thinking" or perhaps better yet: "Were they thinking at all?"
Please Vince, if you are reading this.....please reconsider!!

I really can't blame Vince, a person can only take so much before it starts to take a toll on his health and family life. No matter what he did it was never going to be right. The way I see things, you have to remove the root of the evil before something can heal and that evil is your CC. People have to unite to take back what belongs to the people, a few here and there is not going to win back your town. If enough people stick together as one, it is possible to win back your town. Sisseton is a dead town and slowly going to extinction, is that what needs to happen before it can grow into something beautiful once again. Does that mean we have to wait until their death I am talking about the corrupted people of Sisseton. Remember their is no difference between, black, white, red, yellow, green, orange, but the color, because we all come from one god. When the town has just one gas station and grocery store, do you think the townspeople will react then? Because that's what going to happen before you say enough is enough.
I was shocked when Vincent told me that he had resigned and I was very upset w/ him for a few days, but, I know now that it was a battle that he was never going to win. Kay may be out of office, but, she's still up to her antics and Horton, Hull and Navratil are too stupid to know any better. It's hard to get anywhere when those 3 are going to ALWAYS go against what you say. My husband told the 3 commissioners it was him or them and for the betterment of the county, they decided that Vincent had to go. He requested severance pay and they didn't have an issue forking anything over if it meant he was gone. The county's broke when it comes to staffing, equipment or anything else that was needed to run a sheriff's department but, not that broke I guess. If someone wants to put blame on what happened then let Dawn Sattler, Kay Nickolas, Bobby Horton, Kenny Buck, Glen Hull and Roger Navratil know about it. Brooke Owen
We deserve what we ended up with. We elected Vince then didn't support him.
Did we attend CC meetings? I didn't.
Did we call or contact Hullk or Hortoin and express our thoughtds? I didn't/
We let Vince fiht all the battles.
A great warrior wins many battles but even the very best will tire eventualy.

I thank the residents of Roberts County the chance to be Sheriff. I'm relieved it is over, now I can move on.

After my last post and waiting for further comments from the rest of you I am beginning to think either people of Sisseton and north are scared to open their mouths or I have badly mis-judged each and every one of them. I am outraged at what has happened, not once but twice. We elected a Sheriff ( Gary & Vince) and they ran them out of town! And we watched! KELO TV reported only that Vince has resigned and not that CC's made is impossible for the to do their job.

I'm very sorry that Vince resigned. I would think it would be very hard to fill Vince's shoes. How much law experience does Travis have? I've never heard of him...
crazy.........everyone has a say in how the county should be ran but no one is willing to stick around and put in the effort for a change.
As far as I heard Vince got a job at the magic that payed more nad hey why not get severence pay too. Good thinking V.

Watch for postings telling all, also read Sota paper next week. Its time the under handed commissioners are exposed!!! George and Zimpel are the only 2 that really care about the county. The other 3 have their own agendas. And Brooke is right Kay is still stirring things behind the scenses. Why else would Hull and Horton be running to her office all the time????? I have openly supported Vince and I will continue too. Roberts County lost a topnotch Sheriff. one that is respected all over the state by all Law enforcement agencies. travis been working for vince since december of 2007. everything he knows he learned from vince and he has military backround as a MP.

I feel sorry for the next sheriff. I hear the sheriffs equipment is in sad shape. I heard all the vehicles have over 100000 miles on them and a couple have almost 200000 miles on them. Sad when you see other depts. keep vehicles in a replacement rotation.The cost for the repairs outweigh the cost of new vehicles.
Thats funny, I dont mind Travis but its funny how everyone is looking for new jobs at the SO dispatch while he is the "sheriff in charge" for the time being. Just because he worked for Vince, this does not prove he would make a good sheriff. I think right now his head is just getting too big.

It is amazing how how everyone knows what goes on at The Sheriffs office. As far as Travis getting a big head I don't think so.He's trying to do a job that apparently know one else wants.The job is overwhelming and there never is enough help.The job is underpaid as is a 24/7 responsibility. Especially when you have to deal with the BS from the commissioners.The job should be a 60,000 dollar a year job with at least six deputys not two. Show some support for all the crap that they have to go through to do there job.
I don't care what people say about Travis. He's doing his job best he can with what he has.
For the workers looking for different jobs. They were saying that way back when Vince was Sheriff so they could try to get there shifts they wanted. Its not cause of Travis. Just people trying to get there way by to threaten and intimidating him. He tries to work with everyone at the sheriff office, but some people always want more.
Travis is one person and human.
For the people that think he can't do the job. Why don't they come and try to do what he is trying to do.
for you thinks travis' head is to big. you could not handle the job that he is trying to do. just because you and/or your friend didn't get their way to bad! that no reason to cut a person down. specially when no one knows what travis is going through trying to do his job.
The one that left was a whiner at the Magic when she work here. Always wanted special treatment. She never lasts to long any where, the other bone theatning to go let her you dont need her either at your dispatch center, now if a couple of Chads baby jailers would leave youd be without all the trouble makers. Oh yes we at the Magic know know which ones are his pets!!!!!One really tries to make it hard for the dispatchers and trains others to do the same.
It was racism just like it was with Buck, dont you know hes still behind alot of it pushing and coaching Horton? Vince should sue the County for Hostile working place and RACISM!!!!!!
i love it how this is a confidential job and yet everyone at the magic knows what goes on here? Way to go, girl! we know... but unless any of you work here and really see what goes on how can you say its racist? hostil? or whatever else you might dream up! and i think Travis is doing a pretty damn good job considering how young he is... Like whoever said she quit because she didn't get what she wanted but what ever that's not how it is anywhere else. Tell me one other job where you can go to you BOSS and say i want this schedule? hmm didn't think there was any...

Sorry Sheriffs staff which includes all that work at Roberts co Sheriffs office and dispatch and jail I sure didnt mean you were racist or made it a hostile place. My comments were directed to the commissioners on both counts. They(3 of them) are racist and were hostile toward Vince. I too beleive Travis is doing a fine job and Pray he is our next Sheriff!!!!! And you all know who spread it at the magic there are certain staff that do go there and talk. Ex staff and relatives too.
When you hang out with your supervisor at a bar you know theres going to be trouble. Young jailers and dispatchers have or some had a habit of this you know theres going to be trouble. 1 got fired shes done nothing but bad mouth, one quit my how fast she turned on jail administator and flling other help with junk so it continues(just saw them at bar in Rosholt). You never saw Sheriff Owen out drinking with his staff or Sheriff Travis but I just saw the administartor and a jailer out not to long ago. So its just asking for trouble and looks bad!!!! Not good ethics for any boss or administrator. We make our own problems alot and thats what is happening here. Porky
