We hear that one of our CCs is attempting to dig up dirt where none exists. It is well known that Horton has been going around to other counties Sheriff departments trying to get comparisons as to costs and/or operating procedures to RCs (and we all know you cannot compare apples to oranges don't we). All he has accomplished so far is to make Roberts County the laughingstock of the entire region.
So now he has branched out.
He was seen sitting at the landfill recently watching activities. Finding nothing worthwhile there he proceeded to watch the 24/7 program at the jail.....which is a state program with no county monies involved. Frustrated with that activity he sat and watched the dispatcher's office all night.
Who will be next? What are the CCs looking for? Could the CC be thinking of cutting our Sheriff's staff when it is already down below the bare minimum already? Is Horton drawing overtime/night shift wages for his nocturnal detective shifts? We will be watching closely to see who the CC throw mud at next and how much of it actually sticks and how much splashes back at them.......we do know that both Zempel and George do not support these underhanded activities. We also know how to rid our county of those CCs who actually encourage this sick behavior don't we?

I only have one word for Horton. STUPID!!!!! Wait till Pierre and all hear about this one. The 3 Amingos continue to make Roberts County the Armpit of the state. Why don't the chairman reel Horton in? Oops its Hull and hes a big part of it. Horton is his "boy".

Bobby Horton is not only a disgrace to Roberts County but makes us all out to look like clowns. I trust that the voting citizens of Roberts County will take their right right to vote seriously and throw him out of office! This is enough. He IS NOT any more important that any other commissioner. It is his job to make sound decisions of good faith for the citizens of Roberts County and he has failed to do so from the second he took the oath. It is time, Roberts County, to fight back against this terror. Stand Up! Fight! Its time to get our great county back on track again! We will NOT be the embaressment Bobby Horton is making us out to look like! Lets do it TOGETHER!
Sheriff put $44000 + in general fund in 2 months!!!!And Horton wants to reduce his staff????? Wants to put 911 in Watertown??? Give another county the money. Hes so stupid he cant understand calls come back to our dispatchers anyway. Message can get very messed up in the phone to phone way he wants to do it. Even wants Watertown to dispatch local officers,ambulances etc. What does city say about this? Grant Co. wishes they would have kept their own. Wake up you other 2 Hull and Roger N. and see what hes trying to do to our county. If this continues a deligation of Roberts Co are going to ask Governor and Attorney General to step in and save our county. Put someone to run it untill we can have a special election and get some decent ones. Show up at meeting tomarrow or send someone to voice wishes. This has went to far. OK so county is struggling, so are others, they are raising taxes,opting out and different solutions. They certainly arn't reducing law enforcement or their staff. Thats the most important department in a county!!! You have a new jail,great Sheriff who is bringing in contracts with his jail administrator. Give them time, its only been open a year and they are makingb a profit for taxpayers and thats what counts,not you commissioners. Its the taxpayers county not yours. If you and the rest of the good ole boys dont want to pay more taxes go elsewhere. I'm one of the biggest taxpayers in the county and I will pay more to have a safe county and a place to house criminals. Do your jobs and quit whinning and trying to find faualt with Sheriff. We boycotted Buck and he's gone and we can come up with something for you other 3, so Horton shape up and smell the coffee.

2 yrs ago today the baddest Sheriff in the west took over Roberts county, Little did he know what some county rejects would try even a $20,000 bounty.
He's stuck it out thru insults,false accusations and work a plenty Hes aquired a loyal staff, new friends and residents who back him which are many. He took on a new jail and some county officoals who are dumb, He just keeps smiling,doing his job while 99% of residents wish those people would learn how to spell brains and get some.
We are so proud of him and will continue to stand by him, Because when all is said and done he still shines and they all remain mighty dim.

Now you got Horton in the mix. Well we have shown them we out number them and will take care of all of them come election time. Just remember we are behind you all the way. Please public don't beleive what Horton tells you about 911 and taking it out of Roberts county. He does not know what hes talking about. He thinks he can cut jail staff by doing this. In reality to stay up to state code it cant be done in fact Sheriff is running on bare minimum now and as inmate population increases as it is(just got the first 5 frederal inmates yesterday) and more contracts to come Sheriff will need to hire more staff not less. Jail is up to 2/3's full which is fantanstic thanks to Vince and Chad. If you have any questions about jail contact Vince, Chad, or 2 of the commissioners George and Zimpel to get the true facts. Dont listen to rumor by Horton or others. Sheriff Vince has put $10,000 plus a month into general fund this year. They ar3e more than pulling their own weight. Well said. Its easy to see who is honest here. What do they expect?? To put jailers in herms way for not having enough of them on a shift. This is a 24/7 operation. It doesnt lock the door and go home at 5 like other county staff. Keep up the good work Vince and Chad we will take care of the nay sayers come election. I'll tell you if I lived in Hortons district I would get a petition to impeach,remove or what ever I had to do. We've had some dunb commissioners but he takes the cake. Where does Horton think the money would come from for Watertown to hire more dispatchers to cover Roberts Co.???? They would charge us of course and you would expect them to if you had half a brain. We need 911 right here in our county we are one of the busiest around. As some one said wake up amd smell the coffee. You want to cut staff get that dipsie one out of auditors office and a few others. You commissionerws forgo your pay if you really care. There isnt a one of you that can't live with out it. Meet once a month and take a cut. Many ways to save money rather than going after whats most needed like the Sheriff,jail and his staff. Raise taxes for crying outloud. Opt out. Theres many of us willing to pay more taxes to keep moving forward and improving our county for our children and grandchildren. Yes, great article in SOTA again. Chuck also mentioned operating expense of the new jail. Wonder how it compares with same expense for the old jail. CC's should have known and understood that there would be an increase in cost despite the great job Vince and Chad are doing. The CC's didn't tell us taxpayers that when they were pushing the new jail issue but are crying now.I say let them sweat!! Clean house in the next election. Find those good people to fill the 4 jobs and support them.

Well said Dartman and we will vote him in as he has shown he can stand like the honest,great lawman he is against the worst of the worst the commossioners and their pack could throw at him. I'm proud to call him my sheriff who now has become a friend!!!!!
Can you beleive this??? Horton went to Webster and talked to Sheriffs office there n9ow he thinks our jail with 72 beds can run like the one there with 13 beds!!! I can't beleive his stupidity. I talked to the Sheriff over there and he said he told Horton the Sheriff runs his department which includes the jail and he knows what staff he needs to abide by state code. He also said don't quote him Horton ask to come over and he will speak for himself!!!! GC
