This is the first job we heard of that gives a day of vacation for every week worked beginning from the start.
We don't recall seeing that in the job description so it must have come along with the CC promises made to recruit that particular person for that particular job?

So every one that works 5 weeks get 5 days off when they are so short of Deputys. A Sheriffs job is 24/7 if no coverage. Shows how serious he takes it!!!
We had a blog, for the exchange of information and discusxsion of same. We have been invaded by a juvie punk and I would bet not a registered voter, property owner, taxpayerer or anything else worthwhile. I choose to ignore his rude,ignorant comments and just continue to exchange information and opinions. I also chose NOT to even bother to answer his questions or remark on his stupid comments.

Could it be that he had planned this vacation long before he ever took the Sheriffs job? Considering that he has children and the school had a four day weekend, he had probably made plans a long time ago.
The vacation was planned long before he took the job.More important I heard today that the new Sheriff with no experience just hired another deputy with absolutely no law enforcement experience.She was picked over a certified officer that works in law enforcement and is a police officer in a town in roberts county.He was good enough to fill in and help out the county when needed but wasn't good enough to hire. Someone please tell me what is going on with the sheriffs dept.This county is to big and to much going on to keep hiring inexperienced people.
AMEN to all you said. Roberts county is a tough county 5th highest in state for crime. We need experianced Deputys. I agree with you, the man you speak of should have been hired. County (broke)would not have to pay for another one to go to school fot 12 weeks either. I checked and town where this man works is very happy with his performance. We are down to 2 Deputys that have been around 2 yrs plus. Not much experiance in Sheriffs Department at all. Residents of county are who suffers. We have elections next year. All we can do now is grin and Pray for the best and get good people lined up to fill 3 commissioers spots and Sheriff. Its our county and Voters have the last word.
You said that there are only two deputys there with only two years experience? Wasn't there a deputy that had been there for many years did he quit?
I have one question. Has Horton asked White to check the oil on the patrol cars since tasa became sheriff? If he hasn't I guess you have to wonder why.
No there is no long time Deputy, The 2 were hired by then Sheriff Owen. Reserve for yrs now parttine Deputy Orville along with Tom Norquist have the most yrs. Tom has been a jailer for yts and fills in as Deputy when needed. New women deputy has no I repeat no experiance!!!!! Tom should have got it!!!!!

I don't think the commissioners would do that just because of color. I back Dawn too. I'm glad they are working hard for the wants of the county.

If you don't think 3 of the commissioners are racist then you should have been attending meetings when Owen was there. Numerous racist remarks made. Nothing against Tasa as he had nothing to do with it.
I also back Dawn but I do know 3 of the commissioners are Racist and don't give a damn about the county they like the power!!! Budget cuts all over the place but did they take a cut anywhere??? NO!!! Rather cut sevices be it officer coverage,snow plowing less hours or what ever, but not them they will keep their $30 to $45 a hr to do nothing!!!!! How many in private sector get insurance if they don't work a min. of 30 hrs a week?? Nobody does!!!!! But we pay them and our County is broke!!!!
