Lufkins Mystery

We want to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Michelle Lufkins. May you find peace amid the turmoil.

We've been hearing lots of rumors regarding her death, but very little facts.

We have been told by various sources that she was reported missing on November 20 and her body was found in a wooded area behind the Sisseton High School on the evening of December 1.
The city Police were instructed to keep the area under patrol until the following morning of December 2 while her body stayed there.
An autopsy was ordered and completed in Sioux Falls, but still no official statement has been issued. We have heard bits and pieces of those results from a very reliable source, but again...no official statement has been issued. The autopsy has been over and done for more than a week now, with no official statement. Our informant has said it was completed on December 3.

We have heard that she could not have been where she was found more than a day or 2....so where was she since November 20?? How did she get there?? Who else was involved??
Answers....the people want some answers. We welcome any input on this subject, but please keep it clean.
We have plenty of questions....will we get any answers??

I see the courier listed the agencies working on this case but no other information in todays paper.
They also said the autopsy was completed the same date as this post said, nothing new or informative there either.

Just on 6 KELO TV that results showed accidental overdose of her perscription drugs and that case is closed. Now just why did it take so long to get that info out to the public? State lab been on vacation for a month?

It might have taken them a month to figure out the duct tape wrapped around her mouth.
Maybe she thoughtfully did that herself so her lipstick didn't smear?
C'mon LE! Stop covering things up!! We know more than you want us to know.
We held off to allow a thorough investigation, but please don't try telling us that she just walked to that grove, sat down by herself and ate pills.
We don't buy it!

last poster-What about duct tape? I hadn't heard that one yet...why would LE be covering anything up? It's not like this is a high profile case. There is no reason to cover anything up. Some people just watch too much CSI.

Do you people really believed she killed herself. She lived Enemy Swim, lots of woods in that area. Why leave your house, come to sisseton and find woods behind the school? Can't say she wanted to be found, if that was so, then she would have did it at home. Secondly how did she get from home to there walk? Well Devin was driving her car. Come Sisseton police department, admit it you "F" up on this one. Easy way out call it a suicide end of story. I hope and pray the family of this person wants more answer and hires different agents to look into this matter.

To the last poster. The Sisseton PD wasn't the agency in charge in the first place, it was the state DCI. Second: The crime was committed in Roberts Co and that would make in an county matter. In either case, Sisseton PD & RCSO were simply assiting the state agency's. The state also did their own autopsy, which concluded that she died of an overdose. What more could the PD or SO have done? Get your facts straight before making baseless claims!
