I beleive people vote uninformed. Its easier to check out canidates on a local level especially incumants. People should sttend commissioners meetings to see and listen. I have for 3 years+ now. Louie Voltz is well versed in drainage and zoning problems. More important he stands behind our Sheriff and administrator and makes no bones about it. He is a Sheriff Owen supporter and if I lived in his district that would convince me to vote for him Vince needs his support. Claudia

This is a no brainer. Voltz is the man. Zempel is a good man but does'nt have what it takes to be an official. We need a experanced person which Louie is and one who stands behind Sheriff Owen which he does. Voltz wont and dont take srap from Horton and Hull and stops their games. I work up there I hear it all before during and after meetings!! So go Voltz!!!!

Voltz and George they will stand with our Sheriff. We need people that will stand for good law enforcement and letting Sheriffs office do their job without interference from commissioners, Voltz has already proven himself in this area and George will stand with him. This is what Roberts County needs to have. Men who will stand with our sheriff and not let Hull and Horton run shipshod over them with their dumb ideas.

Maybe the tribe doesn't want to work with the county anymore. The sisseton high school was built on trust land with federal funding for native american students. It got to the point where it became so racist that just a handful of natives go there now so we built our own school again. If we would have helped build the new jail it would happen just like the school and we would be building a new one later on down the road anyway. What people don't understand is that when we had our boundries they were all living on a reservation. How racist is that.

Please don't pit the county against the tribe. That only serves to prolong the racial problems. We (all of us here) live in the same state, the same county. At least those of us living here in the roberts county communities.
What does that mean? It means we need to respect both the tribal and county law enforcement. Both races would be pretty badly off if either had to live without the other I think.
We need to look to the future for attitudes that will benefit our youth, our communities, our prosperitiy. We need to be able to communicate politely with each other, we need to respect each others beliefs and we need to concentrate on what is best for all youth in the area, not one race against the other, but rather all races united.

Well said Administrator. Now someone is spreading that Sisseton residents are complaining to them that Tribal Police are in Sisseton at traffic stops with City Police and HP. Well isnt that what we want all inities working together? I would hope so. Its not unusual for 1 officer to stop at a car where another officer is just to make sure all is OK. I for one beleive this is great. If I was hurt along the toad no matter what roed do you think I care which one stops to get me help no matter whos jurisdiction I'm in? NO i'm not. They all wear a Badge and it gives me a sense of Pride when I see a Deputy.city cop and and a tribal cop all at one stop. Shows they all work side by side as we all should in Roberts county. We could learn from them!!!!!

I could not agree more with the last poster. And the cooperation between our law enforcement officers is a fine example of what could be happening in our county. It is time for the old attitudes to disappear and and new, positive actions take their place. Make our county a much better place to shop, worship in our churches, attend school and I could go on and on. I salute law enforcement and the people involved for making it all work. The word is UNITY, not division.
