This was accomplished by housing prisoners here rather than paying for them to stay in another county and also selling phone cards. When RC jail begins housing non-county prisoners these figures will shoot up dramatically.
Our CC would have you believe their lies and will try to tell you that the jail, under present authority aka Owen & Ward, is not making any money but rather taking from the county.
These are the figures folks. They are from a good source and I have no reason to doubt they are true. I will leave it for you to decide who is not telling the truth here and who is.

That is remarkable!! According to Hull and Horton its breaking the county. Thanks for info. Of course it costs money to run a jail. for housing prisenors not making money. If it pays the 2 top mens salaries its a sucess according to jail sdministrators that have been around along time. And it sounds loke it sure will. If commiss would have worked with tribe they wouldnt be in this mess. Maybe they should have been a little more prepared. I was at some of the early meetings on the jail long ago and they were dumb back then as to what it took to run a jail. Great job Vince and Chad.
Well where did Horton get the idea that a jail is a money making business? I never heard of anything so stupid. Ask any Sheriff or commissioer in other countys with jails and they will tell you they are gratful for every dollar they do take in but no way do they expect it to pay for itself. He should have educated himself on a few things if he wanted to sit in that seat. He has outclased Hull as being the village idiot and that takes some doing.
Jails were not invented to make money, look at any jail or prison. I can't beleive the stupisity of some commissioners. Read last nites watertown paper and see Hortons"smart"reponse. Laughing stock of state with him and Hull. Hopfully get Roger Gearge in there with Voltz and Roger N. will come to his sences and maybe things will turn around. We can hope but you can bet in 2 yrs if not before we will get the the 2 H's out!!!!! Better known as the Boppzi twins!!!!Or Dumb and Dumber!!!!
Since the jail is a budget item would it not make sense to credit all funds collected from the jail operations to that budget item rather then dump it into the general fund?? I am no CPA but then we taxpayers would know exactly what is happening. Vince and Chad are doing a great job in turning our White Elephant, which they inherited, into at least a break even situation.
I was talking to someone from the court house and they said Horton questioned Kay why the Judge was putting people in jail instead of fining them as it was costing county money having them there!Now is that not the most stupid commet you ever heard? What does he want? Criminals running loose? I say get him out of there. We thought Hull made county look bad this man makes it look like the armpit of the state. Guess if those 2 are all we can find for commissioners we are!!!!!
Sheriff gave a $6,000 check for September!!!!! Thats a chunk!!!!
Can you beleive Horton expects a jail to make money!!!!! Talk to other countys that have jails. It costs money to run one. If you get encome from other sources you are one of the lucky ones and Vince and Chad have seen to it that we do. Look at their figrues and Horton and Hull are still griping. You keep up the great work Vince and Chad and ignore the dumb and dumber H's on the commiss. Their the token idiots!!!!!!
Just so you know folks. I wrote two checks to the Roberts County Treasurer for the month of October. The total of the two checks came to $10,476.75. so the jail is placing money into the general fund. Its not much, but at least it is trying.
